R/C Servo Controller II

Technical Information |

On Board Features |
|
4 Digital Inputs These inputs
enable you to connect sensors, switches or other devices giving
only on/off output states. 2 Analogue Inputs
These inputs can be used for connecting a wide range of sensors
for different purposes to your robot. For example, an ultrasonic
sensor giving a voltage output proportional to the distance will
enable you to control the distance between your robot and any
object in its path. Likewise, a pressure sensor with an analogue
voltage output will allow you to stop the gripper of your robotic
arm at a desired point, in order not to crush the object gripped.
3 Digital Outputs These outputs allow you to
send out simple on/off commands to control other devices, i.e. to
start/stop the operation of another robot, a motor, a relay, an
LED, or a buzzer etc. 8 R/C Servo Outputs
Up to eight R/C servomotors can be controlled via these outputs.
Any brand R/C servo will work perfectly with your controller. Each
R/C servo output can also be converted into two bi-stable digital
outputs by using the Robotica Expander
(available separately). This facility is very useful when you need
extra digital outputs, or to control DC/AC motors or relays.

Programming |
|
The R/C Servo Controller II is controlled by
Robotica Control Software, which
is supplied free with the controller. The principal points of the
software's operation are:-
- Mouse and/or joystick control.
- R/C servomotors can be controlled either manually or through
a program sequence.
- All the R/C servos are controlled individually. The servos
can be activated both consecutively and simultaneously at ten
different speeds.
- All analogue/digital input and digital output states can be
observed constantly and controlled by a mouse click on the
screen.
- Different configuration settings for different applications
can be created for immediate recall, i.e. servo limits, park
position, labels, operational mode, etc.
- The robot is programmed by the use of easy-to-use and
efficient single-character commands.
- Programming can be carried out in either Design Mode or
Record Mode. In Record mode, any change you make on the screen
controls is automatically inserted in the text box as program
code. You may also edit and save these entries in Design Mode.
- A comprehensive Help Menu is incorporated within the
software.
